We are delighted that St Michael's Church is the venue for a new Military and Blue Light Café, which started in May 2025.
The Beacon Café is a new military and emergency services focussed Night Light Café.
Come along to The Beacon Cafe and be a part of a community that values your service - past and present.
Serving in the military or emergency services means being part of a team - but sometimes, you need a space outside of work to talk, reflect, or enjoy the company of others who understand your journey.
When and where?
Tuesday evenings at St Michael's Church, Waddington.
18:30pm - 21:30pm.
Who and what?
Started May 6th 2025.
Acts Trust have received funding from the Veterans Foundation to serve uniformed services personnel past and present. The aim of this will be to allow a safe space in which to talk and connect with others. There will be space to talk to trained volunteers should people wish to.
The aim of the Beacon Café is to break any stigma relating to mental health and provide a safe space for serving and past serving personnel as well as their families (Overs 18's) to come and connect with others to improve wellbeing.
Beacon Cafe was featured in the Heathcliff View - a community magazine for Waddington, Bracebridge Heath, Harmston, Coleby, Navenby, Wellingore and Welbourn - issue No 164, September 2025.

Previous talks include:
* time management and organisation skills
* "the power of saying it well" - helping with confidence and assertiveness
* "an introduction to property finance, credit scores and savings"
Our next talk is on:
* "better together - why connection matters"
November 11th
The Night Light Cafes provide a safe space and a listening ear for whenever life feels difficult. Night Light cafes are open across Lincolnshire and are funded by the NHS. They are hosted by volunteers trained in listening skills, mental health first aid and other training around mental health. They offer listening and signposting to guests that attend.
St Michael's Church is perfectly situated near RAF Waddington making it a great venue for the new Beacon Café. The main difference between this group and other Night Light Cafés is that this one will be a military and emergency services focussed.
