Mission, vision & Values

OUR MISSION

'MAY YOU HAVE THE POWER TO UNDERSTAND, AS ALL GOD’S PEOPLE SHOULD, HOW WIDE, HOW LONG, HOW HIGH, AND HOW DEEP HIS LOVE IS.' EPHESIANS 3:18

Our mission is the reason we exist as a church. We believe that as a community we exist to express:

a HIGHER love: worshipping God;

(responding to God's love for us in prayer and worship)

a DEEPER love: growing as disciples of Jesus;

(responding to God's love by deepening our relationship with him through learning and living out our faith)

a WIDER love: serving the community;

(responding to God's love by loving others and responding tothe needs of the community)

a LONGER love: sharing the good news of Jesus;

(responding to God's love by sharing the good news of eternal life and the hope this brings)

Our mission is based on the prayer from Paul's letter to the Ephesians (3:18). We believe that as well as understanding how great God's love is for us we are also called to express that love ourselves in all we do.

OUR VISION

'LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'‘LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF.’ MATTHEW 22:35-40

As a church we believe God is calling us to once again be at the heart of the community of Waddington. After the church was damaged by a parachute mine in World War 2 the community came together to rebuild a church with the intention of it being at the centre of the community. We wish to draw on this vision and play our part in the flourishing of Waddington.

Our vision is also based on words from Matthew

22: 35-40 known as the Great Commandment.

We will achieve this vision by:

  • Loving God
  • Loving one another
  • Loving our neighbour
  • Loving ourselves.
