On VE Day, 80 years ago, churches sounded their bells to signify the end of the war. This year on Thursday 8 May at 6:30pm, we will be joining churches and cathedrals around the nation as they let their bells ring out.
Following this, there will be a short service at 7:30pm at St Michael’s Church.
It will be an opportunity to reflect and give thanks for the peace that so many sacrificed their lives for during the Second World War.
All are welcome to come and join us.
Cat and her wonderful team of volunteers have been busy behind the scenes making bunting and other VE Day decorations ready for a celebration and community event on 8th May at the Wellbeing Drop-In at Redwood Drive.
There will be fish finger rolls, Pimms (plus non alcoholic beverages), a fab 1940s singalong and more!
Fancy dress is encouraged!
